Effective tool - with this knitting boardAug 10, 2010
By Cara L. Sisco The knitting board looms are beautifully made and the metal pegs make it easy to use. I started with one and now own all the knitting board sizes. The owners are very hands on and reply to your questions. I have purchased the plastic looms and looms of other brands without the success. I like how these knitting boards create a double weave and is a small gauge which produces a tight weave. Love it! The key is that it works. It is an effective tool.

Superior LoomFeb 03, 2009
By Sonya I've had this loom for a couple of months now and really love it. I love the smaller-guage ability and appreciate the fact that it's also adjustable. I started with the Knifty Knitter looms and own their long-loom set, round-loom set, and purple long-loom. As a side note, I do prefer using the Knifty-Knitter loom tool over the one that came with this board but that's probably because I'm used to it.
I also have the 10" loom from this company.

Don't confuse this with a knitting machine....Sep 04, 2011

I got this thinking that it'd be a fun way for me to knit. My mom has tried for years to teach me, and I never quite could get the knack of using hooks or needles and having nice neat stitches. I've been around crafts most of my life, and experimented with everything from embroidery to origami, so i was excited to get the knitting board. However, I soon discovered that there's as much hand work as there is in regular knitting, which is not what i expected at all. It seems easy to wrap the pins, and it is, as long as you don't drop any stitches on the little pins. But, the big draw back is that in order to finish anything, you have to be able to crochet to some extent. I found that I got frustrated long before I was any good. My opinion after a few days of playing is that it's different than knitting / crocheting more so than it's better or easier or faster.
As far as the actual product, it's a decently strong product that comes with instructions that are pretty easy to follow. There's a bolt set to adjust it in and out, which is helpful. The DVD is a bit hurried, but does walk you through things as well. I gave it 3 stars because if you know what you're buying, it's a nice product. If you are new, and want to try a knitting board, i'd recommend something with larger pegs. If you are a crocheter who wants to knit, I think you'll like it a lot. If you're trying to make knitting faster, quicker, and easier, you might just want to buy a knitting machine.

A must-have knitting boardDec 26, 2009
By Jackie This knitting board is a great way to be able to knit for those of us that can't get the hang of knitting needles. It is a must-have if you want to make all of those wonderful knit patterns that were out of reach before.
