great idea, pathetic in actionMay 24, 2010

First, they don't tell you how you're supposed to start stripping fabric. Think about it. You've got all these little razors poking up with a safety cover over them. They show someone happily pulling fabric on the other side into neat little strips. But how do you get the fabric into and through to the other side in the first place? You don't. You kind of have to start pulling after you've lifted the fabric up and over the razors, then you pull down and away from the gadget. Secondly, the razors are about 2 inches at most above the surface of your table. So if you can imagine, you're gripping fabric pulling it down and away .... and then you run into the surface of the table. So you regrip the fabric for another pull, meanwhile it lifts up and off the razors, you pull down again to get the razors to bite into the fabric, which by now is in another position, and you pull away from the gadget only to run into the surface of your table again after an inch or two of slicing. FRUSTRATING!!! To say the least. I tried this with the gadget mounted on a 2x4 so that I could pull down for a longer distance before running into anything else, and it kind of works then. But you still have the problem of getting it started in the first place. And you have to wedge the gadget or tape it onto your board/table/whatever because the gadget is held in place ONLY by the tension you provide while pulling the fabric through. SAVE YOUR MONEY and buy a rotary cutter and mat. And it seemed like such a great idea. So sad.

GarbageJun 30, 2010
By kris burjan This thing was just terrible. It doesn't fit tightly enough on any tabletop/work surface to hold it steady. Fabric strips came out uneven and choppy. SO much easier to set a ruler on top of fabric and use a rotary cutter.

Junk, Don't waste your moneyMay 20, 2010

This thing is a waste of time and money. Supposedly it is supposed to fit on the edge of a table. After trying numerous types of tables, it won't fit (or stay in place) this thing moves around constantly. No way to get a straight cut with it moving around on you.
You get a better and quicker result from just ripping the material.

Total waste of moneySep 01, 2011
By Christine B Brungardt Seriously. Does anyone try these products before they manufacture nevermind sell them???
1. Doesn't attach to the table
It doesn't "hook" onto the table. It has this bizarre angle underneath so it isn't a matter of finding the right table, there is no such table. So there is nothing to keep it attached to a surface while your two hands are needed elsewhere. One hand to guide and the other hand to pull the fabric.
2. Can't get it to cut straight
Also, you'd have to be really good to get a long piece of fabric to go straight using this thing.
3. Can't pull a long piece through it
And using it on a table doesn't even work well (assuming it was stationary) as the way you'd want to pull the fabric, the table is in your own way.
4. Can't start at the edge of the fabric.
Have to start an inch or so in.
5. They space the blades a 1/4 inch apart except towards the end. Why did they suddenly jump from 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch. I really wanted 1 1/4 inches. Its not like it would have been any more difficult to do. And if you wanted to make a bunch of 1/4 inch strips, then you can't make as many as you should be able to just cause they quit spacing them.
6. Lefties would have a hard time using this. The safety guide is positioned on the left side. But the safety guide is also used to guide the fabric by running it against that side. Thus lefties would have that everything is backwards for us problem.
I quilt, rug hook, locker rug hook. This thing is of no use for any of these hobbies.
This is not worth itJan 26, 2012
By minimeme I got the item and as everyone else stated it would not fit on the table I had to stick something between it and the table to keep it in place. I took all the blades out but one so that I could get a large enough strip for what I wanted to do. Don't buy it!!
