Works for me.Aug 09, 2006
By MidwestMom I sew home decor projects from time to time, and this desk works well for me. It does not have a lot of storage, but it stores my sewing machine, a few sewing books and 1 sewing basket and a few other notions. The rest of my scraps of fabric, batting, etc I store in my closet. I like that part of the top folds down, so that the desk becomes smaller allowing me to tuck it into the corner of the bedroom when not in use. When I want to use it, it has wheels on the bottom that make it easy to move. The surface space I find to be sufficient. The surface is heat resistant, but is not meant to be used as a cutting surface. The desk looks nicer than I thought it would, and I even really like the hardware. Although I should mention that I think the wood is slightly darker in person than in the picture.
Lastly, I found this desk at Walmart online for $89 (+S&H + Tax), or in the store for $99 (+Tax). I went to Walmart and bought this in person for considerably less than you can buy this on Amazon or Target.

WAY too expensive for the qualityJul 07, 2007

This item is entirely particle board & sells at under half this price at your local "W-Mart". Assembly takes about 2 hours, incl all hardware. It's quite heavy. It looks nice (take care with the surface, mine scratched easily during assembly) once done & from a modest distance. It also is fine if you don't want something that's real wood or high quality, or don't want to spend a lot. I just wouldn't spend THIS much. Buyer beware.

I love this sewing cabinet. I have relocated it to different rooms easily depending on the season. It's quite sturdy and was reasonably easy to assemble if you do that type of thing (wouldn't as a novice because of hinges and hanging the doors). One thing not shown in the pictures is that the left half of the table top folds down when the door is closed, making this cabinet fairly compact when not in use, and attractive to leave out on the side of a room. Note that the left side of the table can ONLY be used if the door is open. The door is the supporting leg. The door has a rolling foot always in contact with the floor, keeping the top level without putting undue pressure on the door hinges. Nice design. There is a decent latch that will keep the door from accidentally coming out from under table, so no worries about the project being dropped to the floor. The shelf underneath will fit most sewing machines easily, and is open backed for easy access to outlets. Quite functional and sturdy for a relatively inexpensive piece of furniture.

Uber Fabulous for a Cricut table!!Feb 02, 2011
By Christine T Morford I needed something that wasn't an eye sore for my Cricut. I wanted this to be in our sunroom, so out in the open for our company to see. When I found this online, i had to have it! I found it at Fleet Farm for $119. My husband assembled it in under an hour. He commented that this was the sturdiest piece of furniture that he has ever put together...and we have assembled a lot. He said all the pieces matched up, so there was no wiggling to try to make things work. So for $119, this is MORE than worth the money. The shelf on the bottom in the middle section, is a PERFECT fit for my cricut when i want it put away. the little storage bins on the door, fit two cartridges in each section. i think there are 4 sections on each shelf. the shelves on the right side, are perfect for paper. if you are tight on space and need a desk for a cricut....this is a MUST HAVE! it's like it was made for it. way to go Sauder!!
