Works for me.Aug 09, 2006
By MidwestMom I sew home decor projects from time to time, and this desk works well for me. It does not have a lot of storage, but it stores my sewing machine, a few sewing books and 1 sewing basket and a few other notions. The rest of my scraps of fabric, batting, etc I store in my closet. I like that part of the top folds down, so that the desk becomes smaller allowing me to tuck it into the corner of the bedroom when not in use. When I want to use it, it has wheels on the bottom that make it easy to move. The surface space I find to be sufficient. The surface is heat resistant, but is not meant to be used as a cutting surface. The desk looks nicer than I thought it would, and I even really like the hardware. Although I should mention that I think the wood is slightly darker in person than in the picture.
Lastly, I found this desk at Walmart online for $89 (+S&H + Tax), or in the store for $99 (+Tax). I went to Walmart and bought this in person for considerably less than you can buy this on Amazon or Target.

Great When It's Finally DoneJun 16, 2010
By Karen Dunn I do like my sewing table now that it's put together. The process of getting it done was challenging for myself. The directions were a bit confusing and not detailed enough for anyone. All of the parts were there and I stuck to it. I did not have the strength to tighten the cams fully and most of the table fell apart as I moved it down the hall. Help! A friend helped me re-build it and he had the tools and muscle to complete it well. Please make sure to have two people put it together since it is not the easiest project to build.

Exactly what I needed - organized and hiddenSep 27, 2009
By Addie's Mom 9/26/09- This sewing/craft center is exactly what I needed. It's not too big and neatly stores everything behind closed doors to keep a toddler out. I think the best part is it doesn't look like a sewing or craft center. The assembly instructions are pretty easy to follow (all you get are pictures), although make sure to pay close attention to which way a piece if facing because if it's backwards, you won't likely notice until you're almost done and it's WAY too late to fix it. Rather than solid wood, this is made of pressed wood, which makes it virtually impossible to undo anything during the assembly process. I still rate this product 5 stars because I love the hidden storage and the fold up arm that almost doubles the work space.
10/4/10- A year later & I still love this craft desk. It's holding up great and I removed one of the plastic bins on the door and attached one of those wooden thread spool racks. Now ALL my thread is neatly stored on the swing out door. I added a smaller rack on the cabinet door for bobbins. I adjusted the shelves so I can fit my serger inside the cabinet too. This thing has tons of space! I'm moving to a new house this month...we'll see how the pressed wood holds up.
