By Lorna M. Swanson This item doesn't work as well as i thought that it would. It doesn't sharpen used blades that well

Makes dull blades dullerDec 16, 2010
By Carol Lamphear After using this sharpener for the first time, I am dismayed at the results I got. A slightly dull blade, after being sharpened following the package directions was completely useless. I finally got a sharp edge by using my old blade sharpener.

VERY disappointingMar 18, 2012
By H. Waldmann I had such high hopes for this. I'd tried several other sharpeners over the years with no luck, so I splurged on this. No matter what I tried, the blades actually got duller. I started with blades of various brands that were still usable, just not as sharp as they had been, and ended up with blades that didn't cut even a single layer! The people at the company were pleasant and sent out some new parts, but it didn't make much difference. I've resigned myself either to having my blades sharpened professionally or to biting the bullet and stocking up on sales.

By Linda J. Addison Doesn't sharpen as well as I thought it would but maybe I need more practice with it. I have a 45 mm sharpener like it and it works fine.
