This item doesn't work as well as i thought that it would. It doesn't sharpen used blades that well

After using this sharpener for the first time, I am dismayed at the results I got. A slightly dull blade, after being sharpened following the package directions was completely useless. I finally got a sharp edge by using my old blade sharpener.

Doesn't sharpen as well as I thought it would but maybe I need more practice with it. I have a 45 mm sharpener like it and it works fine.
