3A little awkward, but it worksFeb 01, 2009
By Kara Kofron "book freak who's a techno geek"
I got this lamp because I cross-stitch and I needed both a light and something to hold my chart up where I can easily see it. This does that, but the design is a bit awkward. There is a way to adjust the height of the lamp, but not the attachments, and the arms of the attachments aren't very long, especially the clamp. For example, to get it to hold my chart up high enough, I had to clamp it from below. The magnifier has a longer arm, but it can be a pain to keep moving it around.
Also, the switch for the light is located about a foot or so away from the lamp along the power cord. That means if you are sitting in your chair, you might not be able to reach the cord. Luckily for me, my outlet is close enough that I can keep the switch within reach, but I was very surprised that this lamp was designed that way.
So I would have to say that this lamp isn't quite worth the money. The lamp gives off very good light and I do like the clamp, but the awkward design definitely takes some getting used to.
