The cassette system threads your machine in 3 easy steps which even includes threading the needle for you. The bobbin system is also simple to use with the fast, automatic bobbin winder and one-step bobbin replacement with our quick set drop-in bobbin. You can also operate this machine without the foot control using the built-in one touch start/stop and reverse operations. It is easy to select your stitch or embroidey pattern on this machine as it has a built-in LCD computerized touch screen pannel. The built in stitches include 10 styles of one-step auto-size buttonholes, built-in stretch stitches, garment construction stitches, decorative stitches heirloom stitches and quilting stitches. The stitch width and length are adjustable as well as the thread tension. There are accessories included for zipper insertion, darning, twin needle stitching, button hole sewing as well as sewing on buttons. Need some one to help me with my machine. I keep getting FO6 in the LCD and the machine will not operate. Husband purchased the machine new about 4 years ago. Got it out about a month ago and everything went well but yesterday all I could get was F06 and my books don't mention anything about this situation.

I have used this model now for seven years and unlike the negative review I have never had a problem with the threading system. Don't slam it home or be heavy handed inserting the cassette and it will last. This is a lovely machine and does not deserve that review.
Brother SE270D It's a #*&$#%&* LemonJul 27, 2010
The first few months it was a beautiful thing. Then it started hanging up in the feed dog. I'd be sewing along on a beautiful embroidery piece, then next thing you know it's hanging up and making a mess of your embroidery. I checked the needle, feedog,thread. I checked the bobbin casing, I don't see amy thing wrong with it, other than every time I get into a project, it hangs up. Quite frustrating!!!!!!
I guess mine was made on a Friday or the end of a month. I sure have a lemon. I'm going to put it in the shop. Then I'm going to give it away and buy something else. I Do have a Kenmore Sewing machine that was one of the first ZigZag models. That thing will sew through anything. It just doesn't do embroidery.It was given to me when I was nineteen years old. I'm fifty-seven now. I think I'll get another KENMORE! Have a good Day All.

I have used this machine twice and the "lower pressure foot" keeps coming up in the window and the pressure foot is down. BROTHER'S ANSWER TO MY PROBLEM? Get it serviced. Stay away from anything with the Brothers name on it!

I purchased this machine 3 1/2 years ago. I have never had a problem with it, and I use it at least weekly. My daughter was expecting our 1st grandchild when I got it, and now we are expecting our 3rd and 4th. Needless to say I have been sewing baby clothes and embroidering onesies,bibs,blankets,etc. like a fiend. I like the cassettes, and pre-load them with the different threads for embroidery. I purchased 3 extra when I bought the machine. To me, this has been the most funI have ever had sewing, and it inspires me all the time to do more!
