 Love how it works, BUT.....Sep 04, 2011

I bought the Ironslide 2000 self-adhesive ironing board cover and this iron shoe as a "bundle" at a quilting show in May. I absolutely love the board cover, and I even loved this iron shoe. The shoe has fabric around the edges (which isn't shown in the pictures) and is tied onto the iron with string that fits thru the fabric casing that is around the edges of the shoe. Over the 3 months I've had this (and used it DAILY) the sting started to loosen and the fabric part slipped at the tip of the iron between the base of the iron and the lip. And then came the burning smell. It didn't catch fire, but it did char the fabric and thus the string inside. I am going to purchase another one, as it may have been user error, and I will keep an eye on the tip of my iron! I'll give it one more try, just be aware this could happen. There is only a 30 day warranty.

Purchased item due to good rating here on amazon. Received item and opened the box and was surprised to see a triangular shaped piece of vinyl type fabric that is heat resistant. It attached to any iron using fabric string. It seems to work okay with all type of fabric without burning especially polyester clothes..I don't know how durable this product and it's life span...I'll keep you updated if I don't forget.
