This is a solid pin cushion. For me, the additional weight was welcome but someone with restricted lifting may have a difficult time. It is lovely to look at and will stay in place when sitting on your sewing table.
Colors are just as pictured. It is constructed very well. I love mine and will be giving it as a gift.

I BOUGHT THIS FOR MY SEWING TABLE TO KEEP MY LARGE PEARL HEAD PINS IN WHILE SEWING HANDBAGS AND IT HAS PROVEN TO BE A GREAT TOOL - I CAN KEEP PINS AND SAFETY PINS AND ALL MY OTHER STICKABLES IN ONE PLACE. NICE AND HEAVY TOO!!! MAKES A STATEMENT.
