Great for paper piecing!Mar 04, 2010

I used this in a paper piecing class and knew I had to have it! I bought it from Joann's through Amazon for 15.99. I was concerned about reviews I read about the mat warping but it isn't the case for me. I am extra careful not to close the mat until it has completely cooled and also, I let my fabric cool a bit before cutting and this only takes a few extra seconds. This saves me lots of time since I don't have to get up from my sewing machine.
This size (8 x 11) works well with my standard size iron so a compact iron is not really needed.

I needed this pressing and cutting station because I often sew with a friend at her house. It is perfect for travel because it is smaller than an ironing board and it folds in half when not being used. The surface is perfect for pressing small pieces of fabric. This item is exactly what I needed. I would definitely buy from this seller again. Overall a very positive buying experience.

This little jem is perfect for quilting class or even those who are confined to a small space for quilting. I purchased this to take to a hand applique class at my local quilt shop and it worked perfectly and all of the other attendees were wondering where I got it. It works perfectly with the small irons that are used for template applique. Love, love, love it!
